As of 1 January 2025, our Pension Fund Regulations will offer even more opportunities to use the 2nd pillar according to your personal life situation.
Adjustment of the beneficiary rules
In the event of the death of an employed person – and, depending on the situation, of a pensioner – Profond will pay the surviving dependants a lump sum payable at death. Your beneficiary order determines who should receive this lump sum payable at death.
Children who would receive an orphan's pension, will now be allocated to beneficiary group 1 together with spouses. Life partners are in group 2. With the new option to combine group 1 with the other groups or to move it down the order of priority, our insured persons will be able to allocate their lump sum payable at death more flexibly.
Detailed information and instructions on how to complete the beneficiary regulation can be found at profond.ch/en/arrangements-death.
Survivors’ benefit for couples with separate residences
From 2025, insured persons can register their partner with us even without a common place of residence in order to secure their entitlement to a survivors' benefit. The requirements are listed in the corresponding information sheet on profond.ch/en/marriagepartnership.
Pension with capital protection
Insured persons can now choose a pension with capital protection, which is valid for 10 years or at the latest until the 75th year of life. You can find information on this in the corresponding information sheet at profond.ch/en/retirement.
