Laurent Schlaefli, Chief Executive Officer of Profond, was unanimously elected as the new President of inter-pension at the last Annual General Meeting on 10 June 2022. He takes over the presidency from Sergio Bortolin.

inter-pension is the community of interests and the mouthpiece of autonomous collective and joint institutions. As a pacesetter, it takes part in political discussion on occupational pensions and maintains an exchange with decision-makers in politics and business.

The demands on pension funds are constantly increasing: The pressure on returns and from regulations, as well as increasing life expectancy, are the main challenges for occupational pensions. In this context, the independent collective and joint institutions, such as Profond, are becoming increasingly important. inter-pension, as the representative of their interests, is the competent point of contact for all aspects of second pillar pensions. It is committed to an independent occupational pension scheme and advocates a community of solidarity between employees and employers.

As the new President, Laurent Schlaefli will work firstly towards increasing the influence of inter-pension among the stakeholders in occupational pensions, so that the common interests can be represented better.
