There is going to be a change at the head of Profond’s Foundation Board: The current chairwoman, Mirjam Staub-Bisang, is resigning from her position as of the end of June 2019. Foundation Board member Peter E. Bodmer will succeed Staub-Bisang.
Staub-Bisang, who was elected to Profond Pension Fund’s Foundation Board in 2015 and has acted as its chairwoman since 2017, is stepping down at the end of June 2019. The reason for this decision is her new role as country head of a globally active asset manager.
The Foundation Board elected Peter E. Bodmer as Staub-Bisang’s successor in its January 2019 meeting. Bodmer has been a member of the Foundation Board and the investment and alternative investments committees at Profond Pension Fund since 2017. He has proven experience in the fields of real estate, investments and business development. Bodmer therefore optimally meets the requirements for the position.
Because the Foundation Board and the current chairwoman want to ensure an orderly handover, Staub-Bisang’s resignation has been scheduled for the end of June 2019.
Profond’s Foundation Board will make a decision on filling the seat that has become vacant – taking account of the upcoming 2020 elections – in the course of this year.
Profond can look back on a successful 2018. It has again been able to count on a very stable customer base and strong growth. The number of members increased from around 45,000 to around 52,000 as of 01.01.2019. Because 98% of the new members acquired are actively contributing members, Profond has been able to significantly improve its age structure.
“We would like to thank Mirjam Staub-Bisang for her great dedication and outstanding work,” says Laurent Schlaefli, Managing Director of Profond. “We’re sorry to see her resign, but can understand her decision. The election of Peter E. Bodmer ensures continuity will be preserved – he will systematically implement the strategy introduced in 2017.”
