The pension capital of the actively contributing members corresponds to the total of the regulatory termination benefits that mainly comprise saved up retirement savings.
The pension capital of pensioners corresponds to the capital required to cover future pension payments and certain other benefit commitments. The pension capital of pensioners is nevertheless positive for Profond because:
- Pensioners are paid the BVG minimum interest rate on their pension capital in each case. Their pension capital is nevertheless invested in the market and the return benefits the actively contributing members.
- At Profond, pension obligations are met from cash flow (rental income, dividends, interest payments).
- Pensioners are very well funded at Profond as additional provisions are included in the calculation of the actuarial mathematical reserves as of the age of 58.
